Mo-Bo Interview

elektro-skateboard.de is pleased to present you an
interview with Markus Buchbauer from Mo-Bo.

Hi, Markus, first of all we want to thank you for the opportunity of
an interview with you, how are you?

Quite frankly, we are glad that the weather is finally as we would wish.

Wonderful, then tell us who or what Mo-Bo is and what your
functions there.

Gladly! Well, our Mobo. We searched a nice name for our board for a long time.
It is berivaed from motorized boards, the name we used back in 2007. That name was too long. My workmate Nico called it Mobo the first time (because it simply was easier). Myself and Frank are the directors of the KUMUJU GmbH, which produces the boards.

Allright, we thought the name comes from 'Monster-Board' because the thing is so huge ;-)

How did you came on the trail of electric skateboards and what induced you to produce them?

We knew the wired boards and had a long look for other possibilities existing. Mid-2007 we finished the first prototype and optimized it till October 2008. The motivation for us was and still is, that such cool boards are just very limited in Europe. We also are big fans of new gadgets.

Are you producing your skateboards on your own or are there any supplier?

The boards are produced, according to our specification, by a friend of us who is technically very adept. Through him we always get new ideas, which are used in further developments. Our first prototype had a steel suspension, which warped after some time. But fortunately, this is snow from yesterday.

Which wood your decks are from?

Our boards are made from 7 layers of glued wood.

Nice to see on the pictures, there is no griptape on your deck - why?

Quite simply, the deck has already a kind of lacquered griptape. We decided for that, because the design of the deck is more continous.
